Not sure if this is the right place for this . . . I’ve searched these forums but haven’t found anything about these annoying popups that appear on so many websites and offer to sign us in through Google.
If you search the web with a search term similar to the one I have for subject above you will get a lot of hits from around this time last year up through recent times, like this one:.
https://www.howtogeek.com/735152/how-to-turn-off-the-sign-in-with-google-prompt-on-websites/
Most of those hits give the same procedure which is to sign-in to your Google account, go to the Security section, go to ‘Signing in to other sites’, go to ‘Signing in with Google’, and turn off the ‘Google Account sign-in prompts’ slider. Supposedly this is a one-time tweak that covers all browsers on all devices.
Unfortunately when I go to my Google account on a number of different devices there is no ‘Signing in to other sites’ section. Instead I see only a ‘Sign in to Google’ section and it has no slider to turn off prompts nor anything at all about prompts. Google’s links to search Help on this topic are not helpful.
(I’ve seen posts that provide tweaks to uBlock Origin that they claim will stop these popup prompts. But even if that works it requires tweaks to uBO in all your browsers on all your devices . . .)
Comments on how to stop these Google popups?
